Mona Hasan

With 20 years of teaching experience, Mona has spent 17 years in the American curriculum and the past 3 years teaching in an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, working with both the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP).
Mona is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning at the British University in Dubai, reflecting a strong commitment to continuous professional development. She holds a high diploma in teaching from Balamand University in Dubai and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Mutah University in Jordan. These qualifications have provided a solid foundation in both educational theory and practical application.
One of Mona’s proudest accomplishments is teaching AP Calculus, where in 2022, the class achieved an average score of 3.72, with 9 out of 24 students attaining a perfect score. Mona is passionate about creating a learning environment that encourages critical and creative thinking, linking lessons to real-world situations to inspire a lifelong love of learning in students.

Working one-on-one with students allows me to tailor the curriculum and learning experience to their specific interests and needs. For this reason, I prefer to build the curriculum throughout the year with both short-term and long-term learning objectives in mind, especially in my experience with the IB Math program.
My goal is to develop mathematical skills, research, while also highlighting the importance of mathematics as a tool for understanding the world and solving complex problems.
