Nedua Hussain
“I provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.”
Nedua has been teaching middle and high school students in the UK and New Zealand since earning her teaching degree in 2012. She has taught German, Spanish, and French, as well as English Language Arts, mathematics, geography, history, art, social science, and science. Her broad classroom experience, combined with three years of one-to-one online tutoring, allows her to adapt her teaching to each student’s needs, interests, and pace.
Nedua earned her teaching degree in the UK in 2012 and went on to teach in secondary schools in both the UK and New Zealand. As a classroom teacher, she developed experience across a wide range of subjects, while her language teaching has been a particular focus throughout her career.
In addition to teaching German, Spanish, and French to middle and high school students, Nedua has spent the past three years working as a private online tutor. She enjoys the opportunity that one-to-one teaching provides to build lessons around the individual student and create a learning experience that is both structured and responsive.
With her broad subject knowledge and experience across different educational settings, Nedua is especially well suited to students looking for individualized support in languages or across the middle school curriculum.
In Nedua’s words
I see my role in empowering all learners to reach their highest potential, promoting a growth mindset and can-do attitude. That means I celebrate effort, persistence, and learning from mistakes. I provide specific, actionable feedback and create opportunities for revision and reflection.
Learning needs to be intrinsically motivated, therefore I like to tailor my teaching to the interests and needs of my students.
I provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks. They should be able to let their curiosity direct their learning as I operate as a facilitator.
