Lorenzo Vantaggiato

Lorenzo Vantaggiato has spent more than two decades teaching high school students and adults across economics, business management, philosophy, English, and the IB theory of knowledge. An IB graduate himself, Lorenzo brings a deep understanding of inquiry-based learning and student-centered pedagogy, with a teaching style that is intellectually rigorous, conversational, and genuinely engaging. He is known for making complex ideas accessible and meaningful, helping students connect abstract concepts to real-world contexts while building confidence and curiosity. At the heart of his work is a belief that learning should be challenging, joyful, and deeply personal.

Lorenzo earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial and labour economics from Bocconi University and went on to complete a master’s degree in sustainable international development at Brandeis University. His academic background reflects a strong foundation in economic theory, global systems, and ethical reasoning, all of which inform his interdisciplinary teaching approach.

Over the course of his career, Lorenzo has taught extensively within the IGCSE and IB frameworks. With more than 20 years of experience working with both teenagers and adult learners, he has developed a nuanced understanding of how students think, what motivates them, and how to meet them where they are. His classes emphasize inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking, inviting students to ask meaningful questions and develop their own perspectives rather than simply mastering content.

Lorenzo’s teaching is enriched by his parallel career as a trained singer and actor. He regularly appears on television and continues to perform professionally, bringing a unique sense of presence, creativity, and storytelling into his work with students. This background allows him to infuse lessons with energy and clarity, helping students articulate ideas persuasively and engage confidently in dialogue and presentation.

In one-to-one settings, Lorenzo thrives. He custom-builds each course around the student’s interests, academic goals, and learning style, whether preparing for IB assessments, strengthening conceptual foundations, or exploring big ideas across disciplines. He takes learning seriously while keeping it human, dynamic, and deeply engaging—an approach that resonates strongly with Cicero students and families seeking thoughtful, personalized education.
