Sofia is a dedicated and accomplished educator with over 16 years of teaching experience in both public and private middle and high schools across Italy and France. Her career has been rooted in a deep passion for language education, with a specialization in teaching Italian and French to learners of all levels. Currently, she teaches in public high schools in Italy, where she continues to empower students through dynamic and engaging instruction in both languages.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that language learning should be active, meaningful, and deeply connected to the real world. I strive to create an environment where students learn by doing—through authentic communication, real-life scenarios, and hands-on activities that allow them to use the language in practical, purposeful ways. Whether it’s through role-playing, debates, collaborative projects, or interactive media, I aim to make language come alive in the classroom and show students how it connects to their everyday lives and future goals.
I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in their own learning process. I encourage them to take ownership of their progress, ask questions, explore their interests, and collaborate with others. My role is to guide and support them as they build their skills and confidence, helping them discover their strengths and overcome challenges. I also prioritize building strong, respectful relationships with my students—creating a classroom culture where they feel safe, valued, and motivated to take risks and grow.
To make learning relevant and engaging, I draw on a wide range of resources and adapt my teaching to reflect students’ interests, current events, and cultural contexts. I believe that when students see the relevance of what they are learning, they are more likely to connect with the material and retain it. Above all, I want my classroom to be a place where learning is not only effective but also joyful—where curiosity, creativity, and a sense of fun are always part of the process.
