Angela is a certified veterinary technician and animal researcher with over 30 years of hands-on experience handling a wide range of animals, from lizards to elephants, tigers, horses, and raptors. Her extensive background includes significant contributions to animal research and zoology.
Angela earned her BS in animal science and equine science from Dickinson State University, and subsequent certifications in animal behavior, small animal tech, and teaching from the Veterinary Technical Institute and Husson University. She began her career working in veterinary hospitals as a surgical and lab tech where she worked with a wide range of animals from dogs and cats to horses and elephants.
She began teaching veterinary science about 10 years ago, and has taught in university programs in over half a dozen institutions. She currently teaches at St. Joseph’s University in Indiana, and has also taught at WestTech College in California.
Angela is an experienced curriculum designer and charismatic teacher whose love of animals is infectious. She has taught her Vet Assistant course to over a hundred students, all of whom passed the certification exam.
I love working with students who are passionate about animals and want to explore careers with animals, whether in veterinary science specifically or a tangential area like husbandry.
