Chanel Williams

Chanel Williams is an experienced international educator with over 17 years in K–12 and adult education, specializing in gifted education, special education, and English language instruction. She currently works with Broward County Schools in Florida, supporting neurodivergent learners as well as high-achieving students, and is known for tailoring learning experiences to meet each student’s unique needs. Her approach blends rigorous academics with a focus on curiosity, confidence, and personal growth.

Chanel holds a specialist degree in special education and a master’s in public administration, combining deep pedagogical expertise with a commitment to equity and inclusion. Her leadership extends beyond the classroom through her role as Southeast Regional Representative for the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), where she supports 33 chapters in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

Chanel’s career reflects a global perspective and a belief in education as a force for social change. Chanel has developed culturally responsive curriculum, designed interdisciplinary courses in psychology, U.S. history, and global leadership, and led professional development for educators on inclusive practices. She has also been actively involved in Model UN programming, refugee advocacy, and leadership training for young changemakers.

Chanel’s professional work is informed by ongoing research, including self-study on Black educator professional learning communities and participation in international summits on forced migration. Whether teaching in traditional classrooms, online environments, or through project-based learning, she prioritizes helping students see themselves as capable, empowered learners who can navigate complex global issues.

Chanel brings expertise, warmth, and adaptability to one-to-one teaching, creating courses that respond to each student’s passions, level, and goals. She sees each lesson as an opportunity to nurture critical thinking, cultural awareness, and the confidence to thrive—both in academics and beyond.

Teaching Philosophy & Approach

Putting students at the center of the learning experience forms the core of my teaching philosophy. I believe every student, regardless of background, deserves access to rigorous, culturally relevant instruction that affirms their identity and empowers them to think critically. My goal is to create inclusive learning environments where students feel safe to explore ideas, ask questions, and take academic risks. I differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of my learners—especially those who are gifted, multilingual, or historically underserved—and I use data to inform my teaching, adapt strategies, and ensure progress.

I see education as a tool for liberation and transformation. In my classroom, learning is not just about mastering content but about developing skills in collaboration, empathy, and leadership. I integrate global perspectives, real-world issues, and student voice into the curriculum so that students not only succeed academically but also grow as responsible, informed citizens. I am committed to continuous reflection and professional growth, and I believe that strong relationships, high expectations, and community partnerships are essential to meaningful and lasting student success.

“I believe every student, regardless of background, deserves access to rigorous, culturally relevant instruction that affirms their identity and empowers them to think critically.”
