Tim was raised in Phoenix Arizona, graduated in 2006 from Cesar Chavez High School, and attended MIT for a degree in Mechanical Engineering Design.
After MIT, Tim stayed in the Boston area. His previous experiences building, imagining, designing, and installing public artwork fit between stints at robotics companies, drone-startups, and college administration roles.
Tim’s current goal is to find a career path that is academically and spiritually rewarding. Green energy, and carbon sequestration startups are of interest, and he hopes to work on his own company that empowers the ocean ecosystem to blunt the oncoming climate change.
I try to help students grow by harnessing their innate interests and capabilities and by devising methods of self-directed education. Each student will ultimately be best at choosing their own pathway, so working individually each student may learn through a custom learning style. Some students might do better with visual learning, others by repetition, some through written text, or a combination of styles.
The process is a balance of listening and observing what styles/subjects each student responds proactively to. Finding methods to nurture their talents, and see them adapt useful skills that can be applied across their curriculum, and life.

Testimonials
“Really good so far. Feedback was taken and executed. I’m impressed with how the lessons are planned, and Tim makes sure Carden has the equipment in advance (as requested). Everything is moving smoothly and Carden reports that Tim is VERY knowledgeable – he really knows what he is teaching.”
