Valentina Alzueta has spent more than a decade teaching in international schools, working with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and academic backgrounds. Throughout her career, she has taught primary students, English and Spanish language courses, and learning support, giving her a broad perspective on how students learn and what they need to thrive. Whether she is working with multilingual learners, students requiring additional academic support, or those seeking greater academic challenge, Valentina believes that strong relationships, thoughtful personalization, and high expectations allow every student to succeed. She approaches teaching with warmth, curiosity, and the conviction that learning should build both confidence and independence.
At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that every child can learn, grow, and succeed when they feel safe, valued, and supported. I strive to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and develop confidence in their abilities. Building strong relationships with students is the foundation of my practice, as I believe that meaningful learning occurs when children feel connected to their teacher, their peers, and the learning process itself.
As an educator, I am committed to creating inclusive learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of all learners. Having worked extensively with multilingual students and children requiring additional support, I understand the importance of differentiation, scaffolding, and flexibility in teaching. I believe that high expectations should be accompanied by the appropriate support, ensuring that every student has access to challenging and engaging learning opportunities. My goal is to help students become independent thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners who are equipped to thrive both academically and personally.
I also believe that teaching is a collaborative and reflective profession. Through my experience as an English Coordinator, I have come to appreciate the power of professional collaboration, ongoing learning, and the use of data and assessment to inform instruction. I continually reflect on my practice, seek opportunities for growth, and adapt my teaching to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. Education is constantly evolving, and I believe that effective teachers must remain curious, innovative, and open to new ideas.
Working in international schools has reinforced my belief that education should prepare students to be compassionate, culturally aware, and globally minded citizens. I strive to foster curiosity, empathy, and respect within my classroom while helping students understand their role in an interconnected world. Ultimately, my aim is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to nurture resilient, thoughtful, and confident individuals who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
