Dr. George Hamilton is an experienced humanities teacher and scholar who has spent his career helping students make sense of the world through history, government, and literature. With experience teaching in both traditional and virtual classrooms, he brings a steady, thoughtful presence and a genuine love of learning to his work with students. George has taught a wide range of courses—including AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Government, and AP Literature—and is known for creating environments where curiosity takes the lead and complex ideas feel approachable. His teaching blends academic rigor with a warm, grounded style that encourages students to connect what they’re studying to the larger world.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the conviction that education should develop both intellect and character. I believe students learn best when they are challenged to question assumptions, connect knowledge to lived experience, and engage actively with the material. My classroom is a space where discussion, curiosity, and creativity drive learning.
I place students at the center of the educational experience, guiding them to think critically and independently while providing the structure and support they need to succeed. Whether teaching history, government, or literature, I aim to make each lesson a dialogue that connects ideas across disciplines and cultures.
Above all, I see teaching as a vocation that shapes future citizens of the world. My goal is to inspire in every student a sense of purpose, intellectual curiosity, and lifelong love of learning values that transcend any single subject or curriculum.
